A Gatlinburg "wedding"

Cody (Logan's brother) & his fiance Dana planned a Gatlinburg wedding for Friday, Sept.13th. Logan & I along with the kiddos headed out from my work Friday around 10am. After forced to take a detour, we finally arrived at the cabin. All of the family was waiting in anticipation for the wedding festivities to begin. Cody & Dana decided to surprise everyone by saying they got married at the courthouse on May 14th & were expecting in March 2014. Shocked, excited, speechless were only a few of the many emotions filling the room. Since the couple were already hitched, we headed out to the Hatfield & McCoy dinner show. This was the first dinner show I had ever attended. The food was delicious. Lake became restless (thanks to a new skill called walking) about 15 min into the show so I took her to the gift shop to explore. The sleeping arrangements in the cabin were a little odd with 2 little ones. We made Stryker a pallet in the floor which he quickly fell asleep watching his movie but not before asking if he could go to his house! Such a homebody. Logan & I surrounded Lake in the bed. She stayed warm which caused a croupy cough. Logan & I took turns rocking her outside in the cool air. It seemed to really help but can't say much for our sleep! We woke early Saturday morning to enjoy time around Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg before making the trek home. Our first stop was Logan's idea of a yummy breakfast...The Log Cabin. We enjoyed various breakfast plates including pancakes, biscuits, toast, eggs, grits, & sausage. We decided to spend time at one of the various theme parks for kids. Stryker & Logan raced against grandmomma in go karts. The boys won the race by a long shot! Way to go boys! Stryker & Lake played all kinds of arcade games which allowed Stryker to win a pirate sword & eye patch. Rides were next on the agenda. Stryker rode a farris wheel, fun slide, kiddie roller coaster, & kiddie airplane. Afterwards, we hiked back to the car to cool off in attempt to nap. Both kiddos fell asleep fairly quick. Pigeon Forge was hosting a hot rod show making the drive down the main road horribly slow. Logan was able to find a back road & then headed up to Gatlinburg. We stopped for a late lunch at a Mexican place. Great food with a chance for Stryker to feed the ducks outside in front. The weather was gorgeous in the mountains. We took our time returning to the cabin since packing up & the trek home was to follow. After saying our goodbyes, we loaded up & headed out. The drive home was kept entertaining by the Ole Miss vs. Texas game. I had to keep it updating on my phone but at least we had all of the details. Stryker kept yelling, "Hotty Toddy" during the game. Our Rebels won making our record 3-0! Go Rebels!!!! The ride home was completed with Lake choking on her congestion causing her to spit up all over herself while still in the carseat. We cleaned her up but she wouldn't go back in her seat unless I sat next to her. My little momma's girl! About 15 min before arriving home, Stryker spit up all over his carseat from getting hot (since he insisted on covering up with his heaviest blanket) & having sweets on his tummy. What an eventful night! Glad to be home & completely exhausted, we all headed to bed. Next time, we'll stay a little longer. This trip was too short to make with little ones.
