Good bye Gardendale , hello Gulf Shores! After a short but long hour work week, we hit the road Thursday around 5pm. We all arrived in Gulf Shores around midnight thanks to a stop at McDonalds to allow Stryker some (what we thought) time to run energy off. Oh were we wrong. He never batted an eye the entire trip. But he was a good boy. Definitely provided us entertainment. Bedtime didn't come until about 2am since the kids were so excited to see each other. Morning came early with the anticipation of being on the beach. Logan left early for a business meeting (work's never done, right?!) while the rest of us hit the beach. A storm had provided the perfect section of shallow water for the little ones without having to get in the ocean (red flags were out). The weather was overcast with a breeze which allowed the kiddos to enjoy the beach without too much sun or heat. Nick graciously trekked back with all 3 kids to meet Logan at the room in order for some much needed mommy relaxing time. As soon as their were all inside for lunch & naps, the clouds parted & the sun gleamed down. Stacy & I were thrilled to lay out, read magazines, listen to music, & chat. Our bodies were a nice shade of reddish brown when we headed back to the room. Dinner was next on the agenda & LuLu's was our place of choice, especially since they have lots to keep the children occupied as we waited. Our seats were overlooking the bay & the TV's were covering the road to the College Baseball World Series. How perfect! Before calling it a night, we visited The Track. Logan took Stryker on the go karts & bumper boats. Then, Lucy & Stryker rode a few kiddie rides by themselves (the swings, airplanes, & ferris wheel). Can't wait to see what day 2 holds!
