CEC Open House

Open House night at Mt. Vernon's Child Enrichment Center on Thursday, Aug. 15th. I was able to leave work in time for our family to ride together. This is Stryker's 3rd year there & Lake's first full year to attend. We absolutely love this school/daycare. I am grateful for all the teachers that are there to spoil our children. They have been an asset to our family. Stryker has Mrs. Pam this year whom he had this summer & Lake will be moving classrooms close to her 1st birthday. It is comforting to know how educated our children will be when they leave here but also how happy they are to go each day. Stryker will have the opportunity to take computer classes this year. Our children will also have a good foundation of the Bible by learning verses throughout the year as well as going to chapel.

Rodeo

Stryker went to his first rodeo!! On Friday, August 16th Coco & Fletch decided to take Stryker to a local rodeo in Kimberly. Fletch is from Texas & knows all about the rodeo. Stryker absolutely loved it! Can't wait for Logan & Fletch to take him to the big rodeo at the BJCC.

LakeLynn: 11 months old

Precious baby girl, you are only 1 month away from turning the big "One Year"!! Time has definitely flown by but you have added so much life to our family of 4. Stryker still adores you just as much as you idolize him. I truly never knew how I could love more than one child but my heart grew even bigger to make room for you. I am eating a bunch of crew though because I didn't realize how much I would enjoy having a daughter. Don't get me wrong, it still scares me to raise a daughter but I'm beginning to think I can do it.

New this month:
*loves table food but yearns for a bottle of formula in the morning & at night
*active just like the rest of us (guess you have to be in this family)
*took your first step tonight - to get to mom!
*wants a nap around 9am every morning (thank you daycare)
*bedtime routine: bath with brother, playtime, fall asleep in mom's arms after a bottle (we sit in the floor of your room) - girl time
*falls asleep best by 7:30pm
*wears size 4 shoe
*wears size 4 diaper
*wears mostly 18 month clothes - due to long torso
*likes to feed self - cheerios, bite size food (your chewing ability is better than expected)
*wants to walk pushing toys all around the house
*starting to show signs of only wanting to be held when sleeping or sick
*has a temper - wonder where you get that from?!
*likes toys that make sound or music
*vocal little girl - getting louder now to compete with brother
*says: momma, dada, bubba, baba (bottle)
*waves now
*still a momma's girl
*got your first haircut - actually just a trim
*eats about every 3-5 hours
*doesn't mind being in the stroller
*would rather be outside - again, guess you have to be with this family
*happy now that we've upgraded your carseat & faced you forward - you & Stryker have a blast together
*have about 8-10 teeth (only 2 of them are bottom teeth)
*would rather play with Stryker's toys then your own

Fourth of July 2013

Logan & I were actually off of work for July 4th! This was an unexpected surprise. We spent the morning at McWane Center (due to rainy weather) along with Coco & Fletch. Afterwards, we headed to Coco's for hamburgers, fries, baked beans, & homemade ice cream. We decided not to watch fireworks because of the rain & having a baby who would not be happy confined to a stroller. The kiddos were exhausted anyways so Logan & I watched fireworks on t.v. Things change sometimes when you have little ones but wouldn't have it any other way.

Father's Day 2013

Happy Father's Day to an amazing handsome hubs that has surpassed all expectations that I could ever have envisioned for the father of my children! Logan received his gift earlier that week so that he could enjoy a hair cut with head/neck massage at The Butler's Grooming Club. Unfortunately, I had to work the weekend. But I made sure to get started both Saturday & Sunday early in order to spend time with my family during this special weekend. After working Saturday, I ran home to allow Logan some rest time while the kiddos slept & I mowed the grass. Sunday morning, I was able to meet them at church for Dad Fest. We had a wonderful service followed by outdoor activities in the sun! I proudly took us to All Steak for lunch before heading back to work for a couple of hours. Thank you Logan for being someone who our son can call a hero & our daughter can first love. You are more than our family will ever deserve. Love you!

Courtney's 30th birthday

Happy 30th Birthday to me!! I have been looking forward to turning the big 3-0. Each year is a blessing & am thankful that God allows me to enjoy each new milestone. I had worked the previous weekend so my birthday was my actual day off! I spent the morning with the kiddos while Logan was at work. Logan surprised me by taking off work a little early. The night was planned perfect. The whole day was perfect because family is exactly who I would want to spend it with. We headed out to Coco & Fletch's to drop the kiddos off. But not before, they showered me with gifts. Undeserved, but appreciated. Fletch had me a complete workout outfit while Coco gave me other outfits. She has great taste! Coco didn't forget Stryker or Lake. They enjoyed a new toy as well. Dinner reservations were calling our name. Logan had reserved us a table at The Bright Star. Stuffed shrimp with a salad was my choice (it's always my choice there). Before I had a chance to order a piece of peanut butter pie, our waitress brought out a delicious, homemade strawberry cake!! He had ordered one from our favorite cake lady, Vicki Stoves. It was incredible as usual. I filled my stomach as much as I could that night. We gave our waitresses a piece of cake as well as a couple at a nearby table. Everyone who walked by the table requested the cake lady's name. I gave out plenty of referrals, that's for sure! Thank you to my family for making this birthday special. You all hold a piece of my heart. Each one of you mean something to me. I am truly blessed & cannot wait to see what my 30s bring.
