Typical Saturday afternoon in the fall

Saturday, August 6th was the opening of dove season. Logan took Stryker for the first time to dove hunt on Uncle Cody's land. The girls (Coco, Lake, & me) spent the afternoon painting Lake's toenails followed by watching the Ole Miss football game! Just a typical fall Saturday afternoon!

Lately

We're always doing something...
1) walking Fletch & Coco into the house
2) wearing a ponytail like momma
3) hair cuts at our wonderful friend's house Midge Dabria (Larry cooked us chicken/sausage gumbo & Daxton played with Stryker & Lake)
4) cookies at Savage's bakery in Homewood (love sharing this place that I grew up with my children)

Little visiting time

Last Monday afternoon, we spent time at Uncle Cody's house with his family, grandmommy, Big Daddy, & Aunt Bonnie. Baby Dalli was spoiled with our kiddos holding her, well for a few minutes until they realized  she couldn't play much. We enjoyed some time playing & a yummy dinner.

Burning bush

Logan, Stryker, LakeLynn, & I were driving home one late Friday afternoon. Our normal quick trip on 65 South turned into a long detour on Hwy 31 due to a 18-wheeler fire. Details regarding the driver or any other involvements were non-existant at the time...

Stryker: "Mommy, Daddy, can we drive by the fire?"
Mom: "No, buddy, the road is closed."
Stryker: "But I want to see the fire & all of the fire trucks."
Daddy: "Stryker, sometimes there are accidents that we don't need to see because people get hurt & people are trying to do their jobs."
Stryker: "But it's ok because the driver is fine. He didn't get hurt because God was in the fire with him. Things don't burn in fire if God is with it."
Daddy & Mom: "What do you mean, buddy?"
Stryker: "Like that burning bush when God was talking to Moses."

Can I just say I LOVE to hear my children talk about our Lord. Praying our children continue growing in the walk with Jesus.
