Logan & I were both off on Monday, Sept. 2nd for Labor Day. We took advantage of the day for memory making! Coco joined the trip to Huntsville Botantical Gardens. Coco found out that the place had recently renovated for children. I would definitely recommend taking the trip & enjoying the day with family.

Logan's new truck
We traded in the Tahoe for a "new" (well taken care of used) truck. I was thrilled for Logan to finally have a diesel truck especially since it lowered our monthly payment, saved on gas, & gave us more room inside. Stryker fell in love with it as soon as Logan pulled up in the driveway. We all hopped in the truck & headed for a ride. I am always happy to provide my hubs with something special.
Brookwood's NICU reunion
Brookwood Hospital hosts an annual NICU reunion. This year it was held on Sunday, June 23rd at 2pm. It was wonderful seeing Dr. Mena (neonatologist) who cared for LakeLynn in the NICU. He was extremely generous with his time while at the reunion. He made his way around the room spending unlimited time with each parent, child, & family. Pictures were taken by one of his own daughters. Not only did we get to express our sincere appreciation of Dr. Mena's care, but we also had the chance to show our appreciation to LakeLynn's main nurse Robin. Robin rushed over during her busy shift in order to see us. We missed Maura (my post-partum nurse) who initially caught on to what I was saying & the way LakeLynn presented when we arrived on the floor. Maura sprung into action getting Robin (NICU nurse) to assess LakeLynn resulting in LakeLynn being admitted. Lake's SpO2 was dropping along with mild retractions & nasal flaring beginning. Our daughter was in Dr. Mena's care in no time due to the quick response of both Maura & Robin. We are forever grateful to all 3 of you for keeping our precious girl with us.
Stryker's first soccer practice
Soccer season is here & Stryker is playing! We are participating in Gardendale Soccer Club. Stryker had his first practice Monday, August 26th. All practices will be held on Mondays at 6:30pm while games are played on Saturdays. Stryker impressed Coach Barber from the beginning. Our little guy impressed us even though we knew he had good hand eye coordination. Stryker was the quickest & scored lots of goals. After each goal he scored, his hands would go up & he would yell, "I win!" The parents were wonderful & the coach spent a lot of time with each player to work on specific skills. Snacks & drinks were provided at the end of practice. Stryker wanted to sit beside Coach Barber. Everyone loved his name & thought it was a perfect soccer name! Stryker can't wait to get real soccer cleats before next practice (he wore his baseball cleats - wanted to make sure he liked the game before spending the money). His team colors are orange, white, & black but the name is undecided currently. Ready for this year of soccer!
Stryker enjoyed having daddy, mom, baby Lake, Coco, & Fletch cheering him on during practice. After leaving practice, we enjoyed dinner & dessert at Dairy Queen.
